POLITICS AND GOVERNMENT

What has happened to politics in America. I can remember when to be a senator was a noble thing. You were able to represent your state on every issue put forth to this great country. Today, politics is just Bimbos running around trying to sell their story to Hard copy about how the governor dropped his pants in a hotel room.

Hey guess what folks, your senator or representative doesn't even represent you anymore. They represent big business. Why, you ask? Because they have the green and you don't! You have to remember that as far as politicians go, money and power will ALWAYS be more important then the people!

Can someone tell me why we still need to spend so much god damn money on Defense? THE COLD WAR IS OVER, WE WON!!! Who are we defending ourselves from, the Iraqis? Yea, they were a worthy opponent for are "under funded" military. I mean come on, Robin Hood and his merry men could kick their ass 10 times over! There's two reasons why so much money is spent on defense. #1. Defense contractors have lots of money. Remember legislators ALWAYS have a place in their wallets for some more of that (Even if it leaves our schools virtually without any money). #2. A lot of people work in defense plants. This means a lot of votes. It's hard to get reelected without them. Hey I've got a wild idea, how about putting these defense workers to work doing something more productive toward the bettering of this nation as a whole, but then again I'm just talking "crazy talk".

I mean look at the tobacco industry. They've been avoiding government regulation for 20 years because they have the money and the power. Hell they even had enough money to pay Bob Dole to annonce to the world that he believed milk was more dangerous then tobacco, during his presidential race! While were on the subject about this tobacco thing, I would just like to say what the government should do is forget the petty restrictions and just tax the tobacco companies out the ass. Lets say maybe 200%. The money can then be used to pay for all the tobacco related health problems. How about that Joe Camel.

I yearn for the day when a lobbyist is someone who holds the door for you at an apartment building.
I yearn for the day when Politicians realize that the constitution reads "for the people" and not "for the rich people".
I yearn for the day when Republicans actually have a heart and a conscious.
